Founder and Bishop of Perez Chapel International, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare has chastised the enablers of the country’s cancer, Galamsey.
In his recent sermon, the celebrated Archbishop reiterated that the practice contradicts humanity’s divine responsibility as stewards of the earth.
“Basically what God did was to make us caretakers of the earth yet Galamsey leads to the degradation of our lands and water bodies contradicting this divine mandate,” he said.
The Archbishop also stressed on the root causes of Galamsey, citing poverty and unemployment as influential factors driving Ghanaians to engage in the destructive practice.
“Why is Galamsey happening, one, because of poverty and unemployment. These are root causes and many individuals turn to that as a means of survival.”
Archbishop Agyinasare further noted the moral and spiritual implications of Galamsey. He referenced biblical teachings about the earth and human satisfaction. “Also the bible says we are all served by the field, the earth. But if you love money you can never be satisfied. The desire for quick wealth is destroying so many people. This is greediness.” he added
