Alan Kyerematen has once again come under attack for his recent remarks on President Kufuor’s endorsement of Dr. Bawumia.
The former Trades and Industry Minister under both the Kufuor and Akufo-Addo government lamented the sidelining of his presidential candidature by his former boss to choose Dr. Bawumia. Alan Kyerematen bemoaned how the Former President chose to overlook his worth to pick Bawumia over him, citing that 70% of his policies were from him, Alan.
In a response to his comments, the Ablekuma Central Lawmaker and Communications minister, Ursula Ekufful has questioned if Alan was the only intelligent person within Kufuor’s government for him to pride himself with. She drew his attention to the fact touting your personal achievement under a government is tantamount to usurping.
According to her, once a President Appoints you into an office it is a privilege to help the president achieve his governance vision and not a moment to attribute success to yourself.
Commenting on the 70% policy attribution, she asked if all president Kufuor’s policies were trade inclined for Alan Kyerematen to pride himself with.
She further stressed that, for someone like President Kufuor to endorse Dr. Bawumia then it has taken a lot of time and observation because the former President is an astute politician who has risen through the ranks and experiences of past democratic and military heads of state. She said the only thing Alan needs to do is to be grateful for having being served under the former President rather than praise himself.
