US-based Ghanaian social media commentator Twene Jonas has stirred controversy with his recent remarks aimed at Nana Bediatuo Asante, the Secretary to President Akufo-Addo.
In a video posted on Instagram by blogger thosecalledcelebs, Twene Jonas condemned Bediatuo Asante, asking him to return to Ghana for treatment instead of the USA.
“Asante Bediatuo, you will die. If you had lived a proper life, it wouldn’t be in a foreign country that you’d be cared for while you’re sick. Go back to Ghana so your family can look after you” he said.
He went on to argue that if proper facilities were in place, high-ranking officials such as Bediatuo would not need to travel abroad for medical care criticizing Akufo-Addo and the government and accusing them of failing to prioritize healthcare infrastructure, like building dialysis centers.
“If you decide to cheat Ghanaians, you will also be cheated” implying that the government’s lack of investment in the healthcare system was coming back to haunt its own officials.
