Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo despite his silence on happenings in Ghana, especially demonstrations against illegal mining has granted an interview to France 24.
With the growing protests and the maltreatment of protestors in Police custody and calls for President Akufo-Addo to take action and respond, he refused to publicly address the issue in local media.
The country however was in mixed reaction when an interview with international media, France 24 popped up conspicuously on the final day of a 3-day demonstration calling for the ban on illegal mining and the release of Democracy Hub demonstrators, under the hashtags, #FreeTheCitizens and #SayNoToGalamsey.
