Flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) Philip Appiah Kubi aka Roman Fada after being disqualified from contesting the December 7, 2024 general elections, has been spotted consoling himself with a big bowl of fufu.
The GFP’s presidential candidate was disqualified following alleged irregularities and ‘illegitimate’ information detected on the nomination forms he submitted to the Electoral Commission.
According to the EC chair, Jean Mensa, the Commission detected that the nomination forms contained multiple signatories for a district instead of one signatory per district, as stated in the electoral laws.
She said though the party rectified some of the errors, others detected could not be glossed over under the electoral laws of the country, hence, the need for the Commission to disqualify Philip Appiah Kubi from contesting the December 7 election.
After the announcement, a video recorded by Roman Fada himself popped up where he appreciated his supporters and party executives for their support over the period.
“This is Roman Fada and I am here to let you know that regardless of whatever you have heard in the media, I just want to say it is well,” he stated.
He urged Ghanaians to vote for the four parliamentary candidates on the ticket of the GFP come December 7.
“When it comes to the Presidential elections, it is 2,4,E so vote wisely. Disqualification or no disqualification I am eating my fufu,” he added cheerfully.
