Presidential Candidate of the New Force movement, Nana Kwame Bediako, aka Cheddar, has boldly put his neck on the line for the unity of Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Dormaahene, Osagyefo Agyemang Badu I.
Cheddar who has acclaimed himself as a peace broker claims the two kings are great kings who have been blessed by God, hence the need for them to be united for the betterment of Ghana.
Cheddar made this remark during a visit to the Dormaahene Osagyefo Agyemang Badu I, and presented him with drinks as a sign of his commitment to ensuring peace prevails amongst the two kings.
“Otumfuo and Osagyefo are two great names. They are great kings and it is with God’s blessings that the two are kings today. But things have happened and the two are at loggerheads. I came here to appease you and I plead with you to settle your difference with Otumfuo. I will tell same to Otumfuo. I put my head on the line for you two. You two are Ghanaians and disunity affects Ghanaians as well. If peace does not prevail amongst the two kings, you can chop of my head,” he stated during a meeting with Dormaahene.
There is an existing tension between two powerful traditional leaders—Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, and Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II. These tensions which have unfolded within the public sphere has showed a level on animosity between the two kings.
Nana Kwame Bediako, in an effort to promote unity in the country, paid a courtesy call on the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Agyemang Badu I, calling for a united front between him and the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, amidst their long standing feud .
