A sales assistant has been fingered in court as the one who gave the Jaguar car key to the 16-year-old son of Bishop Salifu, Elrad Amoako.
Bishop Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, the parents of Elrad Amoako, whose actions led to a crash that resulted in the deaths of two individuals in East Legon appeared before the Accra Circuit Court yesterday 16 October 2024.
The Prosecutors on Wednesday accused the sales assistant, Linda Bonsu Bempah, a sales assistant at Lilo Stitches which is owned by the suspect’s 25-year-old brother.
The prosecution claimed Linda Bonsu Bempah, the sales attendant, “gave the key to the vehicle to the 16-year-old, knowing very well that he was a minor and did not have a driving license”.
Reports suggest that Bishop Salifu and his wife admitted during the investigation they allowed their 16-year-old son to drive to the gym.
Bishop Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako were charged with allowing an unlicensed person to drive but pleaded not guilty to the crime and have both since been granted bail of GHc 50,000.
The third accused, Linda Bempah, also pleaded not guilty, and has also been granted bail.
