Controversial founder of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, popularly known as Angel Obinim, has announced that he will not participate in the upcoming December 7 elections, citing the confusion caused by conflicting prophecies from various pastors.
During a recent sermon, Obinim expressed his concerns about the numerous prophecies being made by well-known pastors regarding the presidential candidates from the two major political parties. He pointed out that these clashing predictions have muddied the political landscape, leading him to distance himself from the election process.
“These pastors keep declaring victories for both political parties, but if God truly appoints someone, then there would be no need for elections,” Obinim stated. He criticized what he sees as a contradictory approach, saying, “Some pastors are confused. They’re making predictions, but they should also tell people not to vote if God has already made a choice.”
Obinim, known for making bold and often controversial claims, also took a jab at the prophets, including Rev. Owusu Bempah, who recently declared that John Mahama is God’s chosen leader for the country. “If both political parties have had their turns for 16 years, then let Ghanaians decide based on performance, not confusing prophecies,” Obinim said.
His decision not to vote, he explained, stems from the confusion caused by these prophetic contradictions. “Because of these prophecies, I won’t vote. Let Ghanaians choose without interference from pastors,” he concluded, adding fuel to the ongoing debate about the role of religious leaders in politics.
