Ghana’s late Vice-President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur’s words have come back to bite the country’s current Vice-President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Then the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia provided 170 statements which he was demanding answers from Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur following a declaration by the Veep that, Bawumia recently lied at the public lecture themed, “The State of the Ghanaian Economy – a foundation of Concrete or Straw” and that his claims were untrue.
The late Amissah-Arthur said the government was still studying the Lecture and will in due course respond comprehensively to the Lecture.
Fast forward, the NPP won the 2016 elections and Amissah-Arthur had this to say to Dr. Bawumia,
“You know economic questions don’t change over time so he can answer the same questions, he posed them so he is the great economist so he will be able to answer them. He is there now so he should be able to answer them, as I said economic questions don’t change over time. The same questions maybe the answer will change he will offer us the responses.”
Ghana has serious economic issues which need to be resolved. The country is currently drowned in debt, with the cedi losing value rapidly. Dr. Bawimua who was regarded as the economic Wizkid has still not proffered any solutions to Ghana’s current economic situation.
I wish Amisah Arthur was alive to witness Bawumia’s governance. Till date Bawumia has not coughed over the 170 questions he posed to Amisah Arthur. Today, people are holding brief for Bawumia for being Vice President and has no authority. Vindication lies in the womb of time pic.twitter.com/YJ6vxRu3Qm
