A former member of the NPP and now with the Movement for Change Lawyer Andrew Appiah Danquah has revealed that the NPP constitution agrees with speaker Bagin’s ruling in parliament.
According to the Movement for Change member, Article 3 of the NPP constitution highlights that any member who contests against an NPP-sponsored candidate automatically forfeits their membership.
Speaking in a discussion on Pan Africa TV, he stated, “Now their constitution Article 3 what does it say, it is very clear that if you go and support an independent candidate or if you go independent and contest against any candidate an NPP has sponsored then you are deemed to have forfeited your membership it is clear”.
“The day I hoisted the yellow flag of Alan Kyeremanten I ceased to be a member of that party (NPP) I can never go back. When Alan Kyeremanten became independent, he ceased to be a member of the party automatically”, Lawyer Andrew Appiah Danquah further added.
He added that the New Patriotic Party does not believe in the rule of law because their constitution stated things clearly and now, they are trying to change the understanding.
