Bryan Acheampong, the Minister for Food and Agriculture and member of Parliament for Abetifi, has stated that the Eastern Region is under lockdown.
According to him any miscreant attempt to disrupt the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) anticipated victory would face severe consequences.
Speaking at a campaign rally in the Eastern Region, he stated, “The voting would be done in peace, the collation of the results would also be done in peace, and the NPP would be declared winners in peace. But any person who calls himself a man, or a man who would be wearing women’s clothing, who comes to spoil the win of the NPP would have himself to blame”.
“Any person who would try to spoil the win of the NPP would have himself to blame. I can assure you (NPP) that we have had a great campaign, and we have put measures in place and so let no one be afraid”, he added.
Bryan Acheampong further emphasized, “Let no one be afraid; we have put measures in place. The Eastern Region is under lockdown. The Eastern Region is under lockdown, and if you dare come here, we will give you a showdown. The victory is under lockdown. If you come and fool in the Eastern Region, we are going to give you a showdown.”
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akufo Dampare has assured Ghanaians, the country will continue to enjoy peace after the December polls.
According to IGP Dampare, people who think that they can come out and make statements to intimidate life will become uncomfortable for them during the 2024 elections.
