Minister of Trade and Industry, Kobina Tahir Hammond, has called on the NDC leader in Parliament, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, to order his followers to “return to where they originated from to their seat on the majority side “,
following a Supreme Court ruling that challenged Speaker Alban Bagbin’s decision to declare four parliamentary seats vacant.

Hammond emphasized that the Speaker must adhere to the Court’s ruling, which sided with Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin in the dispute over the status of the affected MPs.

Hammond expressed confidence that, with the Court’s intervention, Bagbin is now obligated to comply with the ruling, which temporarily blocks the implementation of his initial decision.

He suggested that Ato Forson and his supporters, who were behind the legal challenge, should now return to their rightful place in Parliament, as the Court has clarified the constitutional standing of the MPs in question.
