Koku Anyidoho, a former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and now Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills Institute has reacted to a video of an NDC communicator claiming farmers will pay smoke tax if they burn their weeds.
Koku Anyidoho posted a video of an NDC communicator claiming Dr. Bawumia will tax all farmers if they burn their weeds.
The NDC man said, “After weeding your farm and you want to burn it unless you go and call the government, they will come and check the size of the farmland and the amount of smoke that will be caused then you will pay a tax”.
Reacting to this Koku Anyidoho took to his X page, and shared the video with a statement that reads, “Such despicable campaign tactics!!!! This is NOT the NDC of JJ Rawlings. Very shameful!!! Give us a concrete roadmap of how you intend to move this nation forward into real transformational/transgenerational growth and stop this nasty Paleolithic type of politics. Disgusting!!!”
The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) announced the commencement of the implementation of the Emissions Levy Act, on February 1, 2024, the Act will impose a levy on carbon dioxide equivalent emissions on internal combustion engine vehicles.
They emphasized that it is in line with the government’s responsibility to address greenhouse gas emissions.
