Bishop Dr. Juliana Darkoa Abayie Sarpong, General Overseer of Harvestime Bible Church Int at Accra Gbawe Zero, has issued a stern warning to the youth, urging them to refrain from engaging in violent acts, particularly ballot box snatching, on Election Day.
Speaking to the media in Accra, Bishop Sarpong expressed her deep concern about the potential for bloodshed and chaos if youth continue to partake in such dangerous behavior.
“I don’t understand why someone should go and snatch a ballot box, knowing that it could lead to violence. Peace is not something that is bought or sold on the market,” she said.
She emphasized that such actions would not only jeopardize the peace the country currently enjoys but also thwart the prayers of citizens who wish for a peaceful election.
“If we fail to protect the peace we have, it will end in chaos and bloodshed.
Our prayers for peace will not be answered,” she added, urging the youth to act responsibly.
Bishop Sarpong also called on the Electoral Commission (EC), political parties, and the electorate to play their part in maintaining peace during the election process.
She encouraged political parties to accept the results of the election, emphasizing that only one candidate will emerge victorious.
