The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has accused the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, of busing people to rally grounds during his tour of the Ashanti region.
Speaking at Tepa-Akwasiase in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency as part of his campaign tour of the Ashanti region, he pointed out that the NPP is losing its appeal in what has traditionally been considered its strongesthold.
He emphasized that residents should attend NPP rallies out of genuine interest, contrasting this with his own campaign in the region, where people attend voluntarily.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia asserted that Dr. Bawumia’s campaign has lost momentum, which has led to the need for busing NPP supporters to campaign events to create the illusion of larger crowds.
He also mentioned that some individuals in the region feel embarrassed to wear NPP T-shirts due to the poor governance displayed by the Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia administration.
He urged residents to reconsider their voting patterns and move away from the mindset of “I was born into the NPP,” encouraging them to support the development-oriented NDC to foster progress in the region.
