The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Kwartei Titus Glover has instructed the Municipal Chief Executive of the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly, Mordecai Kwashie to provide a 24 hour security position at the flower pot flyover.
This new development has become necessary after the Regional Minister took actions against two young female hawkers who defied orders not to hawk under the newly constructed and commissioned road.
In an interview after the incident, the former Tema East Member of Parliament said, the provision of the 24 hour security position at the place will help drive away and apprehend any hawker who defies instruction and laws to sell or transact market under or closer to the flyover. He also mentioned that, he spoke to some Police men to also be on the watch out for people who will trespass and use the place for marketing activities.
Mr. Glover shared that, in the last term of President Akufo-Addo, there will be no compromises of some nuisances going on in the country. He added that the interchange is not only serving as a means of transport but with the designs beneath, it is serving as a beatification purpose so there is no need in selling underneath it.
He further emphasized that strenous punishment will be meted out to trespassers and If it requires that the metal fence be extended, they won’t hesitate to shield the place to preserve its beauty.
