It has been claimed that Southern Ghana is drastically becoming prone to earthquakes according to a post cited on social media.
The claimed made by Anonymous Ghana suggest illegal mining is causing Southern Ghana to become prone to earthquakes for the future with the Ghana Geological Survey Authority remaining quite on the issue.
The post on X accompanied with a graphic image showed Accra is seismic hazard by 0.20 – 0.35 to earthquakes.
This alleged claim and graphic image however is yet to be verified as being authentic.
Sameul post comes as the Concerned Citizens Anti-Galamsey are protesting against galamsey and are demanding action against illegal mining.
The demonstration, which will run until October 5, aims to highlight the ongoing environmental destruction caused by illegal mining, locally known as galamsey.
The protesters are also demanding the immediate release of 53 Democracy Hub protesters who were arrested and still in remand during an anti-galamsey demo some weeks ago.
