South African Football Association (SAFA) President, Danny Jordaan is being investigated over allegations of using SAFA funds to his benefit.
Dannu Jordaan was arrested on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 but was however granted bail of 20,000 rand ($1,110), denying any wrongdoing.
The arrest came after a raid on SAFA offices in March by. A police spokesperson said at the time the allegations were that between 2014 and 2018 “the president of SAFA used the organization’s resources for his personal gain, including hiring a private security company for his personal protection and a public relations company, without authorization from the SAFA board”.
The SAFA boss was arrested together with his co-accused, SAFA chief financial officer Gronie Hluyo and businessman Trevor Neethling who have also been granted bail.
