President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has chastised the Black Stars of Ghana over their performance against Niger in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
According to him, the Niger team is no match for the Black Stars and he expected the Black Stars to beat Niger easily.
On September 9, 2024 Ghana played against Niger in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier after throwing away a first half lead to draw 1-1 with the Menas at the Municipal Stadium in Berkane, Morocco.
Alidu Seidu put Ghana ahead just before the half-time whistle but Niger equalised through Oumar Sako to claim a point.
Addressing the Black Stars ahead of their match against Sudan on Thursday, 10th October, 2024, he said, “Lemme roll the time back, few weeks ago we played against Niger. How did you guys feel when you went back home to your bases. Having drawn against Niger, how did you feel? Were we happy? Were you happy?
Niger! Come on guys you drew 1:1 against Niger. That was the score line. No joke 1:1 against Niger Four or five of the players who played in that sport, sorry cannot play in my club (Dreams FC) that’s the truth.”
Kurt emphasized that the Black Stars’ performance against Niger was without passion.
