Wesley Girls’ High School’s pursuit of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) trophy has once again come to a premature end, continuing a streak of unfulfilled ambitions in the competition. Despite maintaining a reputation for academic excellence, especially in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results, the prestigious all-girls’ school has yet to claim a single NSMQ championship title.
In this year’s contest, Wesley Girls’ was eliminated by their neighbors and rivals, St. Augustine’s College, who scored an impressive 52 points. While Wesley Girls’ managed to accumulate 37 points, the result has left fans hoping for the NSMQ trophy to finally land in their hands once again disappointed. The final scores were as follows:
- St. Augustine’s College: 52 points
- Ghana National College: 49 points
- Wesley Girls’ High School: 37 points
For Wesley Girls’, this loss may have been softened slightly by the achievement of outlasting many other competitors, yet the “NSMQ drought” continues.
