The New Patriotic Party(NPP), has announced the official replacement of Joseph Frimpong, Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw in the coming parliamentary elections.
The NPP, after an emergency meeting with the National Council on Tuesday, September 3rd, arrived at the decision to replace the sitting MP with David Asante who was defeated by Hon. Frimpong earlier in January this year in the party’s parliamentary primaries.
It is reported that the urgent replacement is to ensure that campaign activities needed to be undertaken ahead of the coming elections can be undertaken successfully, and Hon. Frimpong may not be in the best position for this as his health is currently compromised.
David Asante, who is also the CEO of Ghana Publishing Company Limited, now stands as the Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region, and will be the lead in championing efforts to maintain the parliamentary seat of Nkawkaw in the camp of the NPP as they contest against the NDC again in the upcoming general election.
David will be contesting against NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Nkawkaw, Frederick Obeng Somuah.
