Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa the North Tongu Member of Parliament (MP) has revealed that top National Cathedral officials have smiled to their banks to receive salaries for September for no work done.
Speaking on TV3 Key point on 5 October 2024 Hon Ablakwa stated that he has intercepted documents from the Integrated Personnel Payroll database since the project stalled 31 months ago and the document showed that these top officials of the National Cathedral project have been paid for 31 months.
“The project has stalled for 31 months and the tracking I have done accessing the IPPD, our national payroll database they have been paid true out the 31 months period for no work done”. Ablakwa reiterated.
Hon. Ablakwa went further listing the officials as Dr. Paul Opoku Mensah Position: Overseer of the National Cathedral, Rev. Father Ebenezer Saka Ameyaw Position: Church Relation Manager, Madam. Rebecca Lovia Martechoo Yakpo Position: Programme Director.
He added that these top officials have been programmed in the system to receive their Salaries until next year January and have received GHC2.2m.
The member of parliament Hon. Ablakwa further added the country is witnessing unprecedented Labour agitations, Universities have deferred reopping’s over unpaid wages for what they have worked for but are being treated shabbily by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government.
