Ghanaian rapper and musician, Pope Skinny, recognized the influence of dancehall king Shatta Wale on his life and their friendship.
In an interview on Accra FM he said, “I learnt confidence from Shatta Wale. I also learnt how to make good money from him. Shatta Wale saves a lot”.
According to him, learning these attributes from the dancehall artiste has helped and affected his life and career positively.
Pope Skinny went on to refute claims that Shatta Wale had bought him a Mercedes Benz.
“I bought a Benz, we went to NAM1’s show and in an interview, Shatta Wale announced we have welcomed a new Benz into the family note, he didn’t say he bought it for me. The next thing you know, someone’s spreading news that ‘Shatta Wale buys Benz for Pope Skinny’,” he explained.
Responding to their friendship now and how they fell out he stated that regrets how things ended between them and despite their fallout, the misses him every day.
“He’s our guy, Shatta Wale is outspoken, he is always painted as the villain and his words and intentions misconstrued. Shatta Wale will not attack you unless you provoke him” he indicated.
