Sam George, a member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram has addressed Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo-Dampare in a letter over the arrest of several protesters.
In his letter he stated, “Chief, you owe a duty to the citizens in the custody of your outfit to be humane in your handling of their persons. Reports that the Police service is refusing medical access to persons who have been detained under extremely bizarre circumstances leaves a lot of worry”.
The MP indicated to the IGP of Bible scriptures call to care for the sick, urging him to reflect on whether he could “go to church on Sunday in all good conscience knowing your outfit’s actions could possibly lead to the death of ‘innocent’ citizens.”
