The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Agent Supervisor for ballot printing in the 2024 elections, Richard Jakpa, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Electoral Commission (EC) of secretly printing an additional 3,000 ballot papers beyond the required numbers in several constituencies in the Ashanti and Eastern regions.

According to Jakpa, these regions are strongholds of the NPP, raising concerns about the integrity of the electoral process.
In an interview with Joy News, Richard Jakpa stated that EC officials were caught last Saturday, November 2, 2024, secretly and deliberately printing 3,000 additional ballot papers beyond the required numbers in several constituencies across the Ashanti and Eastern regions.
He alleged that In the Ashanti region alone, each of the 47 constituencies got 3000 additional ballot .
But Speaking at the launch of the National Peace Campaign on yesterday November 3, Deputy Chairman of Operations for the EC, Samuel Tettey stated that all excess ballots are destroyed in the presence of political party agents, maintaining transparency and fairness in the electoral process.
He further assured Ghanaians of the EC’s commitment to a peaceful and credible election.according to him,
“The allegation of the ballot printing, which is currently in the public domain, is not true.
He urged political parties to exercise caution in their public statements while reaffirming the Electoral Commission’s dedication to ensuring transparent and fair elections.
