Residents of Teshie Nii Otsw3 in the Ledzokuku Municipality of the Greater Accra region are threatening to boycott the December 7 presidential and parliamentary election over the stalled construction of roads in the area.
According to them, all efforts to get answers from the municipal assembly have proved futile.
The residents are therefore threatening to boycott the upcoming election should their concerned be further ignored Some of them shared their frustrations
On May 31, 2023, they demanded the immediate repair of the deplorable roads to alleviate the burden on car owners and others who frequently have to fix their vehicles due to the poor road conditions.
Clad in red T-shirts and armbands, the residents carried placards with various inscriptions, including “Our roads look like a galamsey site,” “Mr. MCE, what are you doing about our roads?” and “Deathtrap potholes making our roads inaccessible.”
Additional placards read: “We can’t drive in the manholes any longer,” “Our women are experiencing miscarriages because of the bad roads,” “Mr. President, are we not fellow Ghanaians? Fix our roads!” and “Our ancestors are not happy with you. Fix our roads now!”
