Residents of Boohu in the Ashanti Region are expressing anger over ongoing rock blasting activities, which they say have caused significant damage to their homes and properties.
The blasts, reportedly carried out by a Chinese company, have left cracks in buildings and disrupted the lives of many in the community.
Some rock particles flew from the blasting spot and landed on nearby buildings, causing various degrees of damage.
No lives were lost in this incident like the Buduburam situation where some of the rock particles hit people and led to their death.
Residents along the Kasoa – Winneba highway have been wreak with another havoc after the construction company undertaking the road expansion project in the area blasted a rock which dispersed into their homes.
Nag Fairmount Constructions Limited, following an earlier blast which affected residents within the Buduburam enclave, leading to the death of some residents, on Monday, November 18, 2024, made another blast destroying some buildings at Dabenyin in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
Some rock particles flew from the blasting spot and landed on nearby buildings, causing various degrees of damage.
The affected buildings include a fully completed 16-bedroom apartment and a two-bedroom apartment under construction.
No lives were lost in this incident like the Buduburam situation where some of the rock particles hit people and led to their death.
But owners of the affected buildings are worried because those responsible for the havoc on their properties are showing no concern since the incident occurred.
Locals are calling on authorities to intervene and address the situation, which they describe as a threat to their safety and livelihoods.
