Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of the Asorgli State, has called on Ghanaians, particularly politicians, to demonstrate a high level of patriotism by prioritizing national interests.
He emphasized that when the interests of political parties take precedence over the nation’s well-being, it creates significant problems for the country.
An honest politician, he argued, should ensure that their party’s interests align with those of the nation.
Togbe Afede made this appeal during a durbar in Ho to mark the climax of the 2024 Yam Festival.
He highlighted that beyond the economic challenges facing Ghana, peace is paramount, as it is a critical factor for potential investors considering the country.
He urged chiefs, youth, military personnel, police, and political leaders to safeguard the nation’s peace at all times.
