President of the United States, Joe Biden is planning to host the first ever ‘Brunch in Celebration of Black Excellence’ on the South Lawn of the White House.
A post was made on Instagram by The Shade Room announcing this exclusively, and further explaining that the event is to honor and show appreciation to black Americans for their extensive contribution to the fabric of America.
The ‘Brunch in Celebration of Black Excellence’ will be a partnership with the official ‘Black Excellence Brunch’ organizers, and in attendance will be reputable black people in various industries from entertainment to politics, social media influencers, among others.
Actress and film producer, Marsai Martin is also booked to give remarks at the event.
President Biden’s Senior Advisor and Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, Stephen Benjamin, also told TSR, “We’re thrilled to be hosting the first-ever Celebration of Black Excellence at The White House.
It is yet another example of the work President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have put in since Day One to honor the community through actions that have not just lowered the barriers to opportunity but promoted greater paths to excellence for Black Americans across the country. Due to the efforts of the Biden-Harris Administration, Black unemployment hit historic lows, Black net worth is up 60% since the pandemic, and Black entrepreneurs are establishing small businesses at rates not seen in 30 years”.
While some Africans on social media have expressed their excitement over this, heeding their cries on black inclusivity, others also argue that this is just a political gimmick, however, Biden is not contesting in this year’s election, some people have conferred that he is doing this to win favor for his vice president, Kamala Harris, as she is contending for president.
