The CEO of McDan Group, Dr Daniel McKorley has lamented that politicians who have not employed anybody before sit and enact policies for business owners in Ghana.
Mcdan as he is commonly known noted that it should be private sector leaders guiding economic decisions that impact businesses.
Speaking at the Ghana CEO-Presidential Gala Dinner on Thursday in Accra, he lamented, “We have to be very serious in this country, we can help the government, we have to help the government, this is our country we don’t have any other country to run to, all my investment is in Ghana and what do I do and where do I run to. We have to put all our resources in here”.
“I can tell you that we are living in a country where the government, the politicians who sit down and drive policies for the private sector who understand business, I have many occasions that I have walked to a minister whatever I explained he does not understand and he will never understand, and this is the guy taking decisions for me”, he added.
Mcdan further revealed, “I have been in private business for over 30 years, and I am telling you that this will work not for my selfish interest but think about it, Politicians who have not even built or employed three people in their whole lives would sit and enact policies for me who is paying over 7000 people”.
According to Mcdan, it is entrepreneurs who create jobs, and the government business is to aid them.
“Our business as entrepreneurs is to create jobs government business is to aid us to create jobs for them, so if you cross Ghana we are doing well my only problem is time politics the winner takes all”. He reiterated.
