On October 6, 2024, a vibrant rally took place as individuals with disabilities gathered in support of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Dressed in party colors, they flooded the streets, celebrating their endorsement with spirited dances to brass band music and singing NPP anthems.
In a video that has gained significant traction on social media, participants showcased their enthusiasm, maneuvering through the city in their wheelchairs, calling on NPP delegates to vote for Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming elections on November 4, 2023.
Supporters highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s qualities as a unifier, noting his exceptional religious tolerance and commitment to fostering peace among various faiths.
According to them Dr. Bawumia embodies the leadership qualities necessary for the future of Ghana and has the heart and care for people living with disability.
As he promised to provide free tertiary education to all persons with disability who make it to University in Ghana.
