Ex-husband of gospel singer Obaapa Christy, formerly known as Christiana Love, Pastor Hammond Love, has been sentenced to 48 months in prison by an Accra Circuit Court for stealing a car.
In 2017, Pastor Love faced legal action for selling a vehicle without the owner’s consent. According to the prosecution, the complainant, Samuel Amankwah, had imported a Toyota Highlander into Ghana in 2016 and entrusted Pastor Love with handling its clearance.
After the car was cleared, Amankwah instructed Pastor Love to sell it for fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00), with the understanding that the clearance fees would be deducted from the sale. However, Amankwah later changed his mind and planned to personally pay Pastor Love for the clearance upon his arrival in Ghana in April 2017.
Upon his arrival, Amankwah discovered that Pastor Love was unable to account for the car, despite several requests.
