A 50-year-old pastor takes his life after allegedly beheading his 46-year-old wife on a cassava farm at Trabuom in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.
The pastor, Pastor Victor Appiah, is the End Time Rapture Family Church’s founder and general overseer is reported to have beheaded his 46-year-old wife in a cassava farm on Saturday, September 28 2024, before ingesting poison to end his life.
Eyewitnesses and family member revealed a long history of domestic conflicts between the couple. Akua a mother of eight, had previously left the marriage due to these disputes, but Victor managed to persuade her to return home only for him to carry out the brutal attack shortly thereafter.
“My sister had left her husband due to misunderstandings, but he convinced her to come back.
We never knew he had set 2 trap,” said Kofi Bonsu, Akua’s brother, recounting the chilling details of the murder.
Victor allegedly ambushed Akua as she fetched cassava from a nearby farm, brutally severing her head with a machete.
In a shocking turn of events, Victor called Akua’s mother to inform her of the horrific act, instructing the family to collect her body. He then committed suicide by drinking poi-son.
Local police have launched an investigation into this grim incident, while the residents of Trabuom are grappling with disbelief over the pastor’s actions.
“Pastor Victor was well-respected in our community, always preaching about love and forgiveness. No one imagined he could do something like this,” one distraught resident lamented.
The tragic event has left the community in shock, struggling to comprehend the horrific sequence of events that led to this unspeakable act of violence.
