Ghana’s Parliament is set to resume from recess on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
This was contained in a summons issued by the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, on Monday, September 30, 2024.
The upcoming parliamentary meeting will be held at The Dome, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) due to the ongoing renovation works at the Chamber of the House.
“Pursuant to Order 58 of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana, I, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, hereby give notice that the fifth meeting of the fourth session of the eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic shall take place in the Dome, Accra International Conference Centre on Tuesday, the 15th day of October 2024 at ten o’clock in the forenoon.
The renovation project would include significant upgrades to the Chamber’s infrastructure, such as improvements to the working tables, chairs, and other furnishings that were critical to the legislative body’s daily operations.
Meanwhile Former Minority Leader and MP for Tamale south Haruna Iddrisu, is promising of an interesting session.
He says the NDC caucus of the house will invoke Article 97 (1) (g) of the constitution to compel colleagues from three NPP MP’s and one NDC to vacate their seat thereby making the NDC majority in the house.
