Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security, Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, has strongly criticized Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako for his recent comments about his son’s involvement in a tragic accident.
Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show on October 21, 2024, Boakye-Danquah called the Bishop’s remarks insensitive and dismissive, considering the gravity of the incident.
“This accident has left Ghanaians both here and abroad deeply hurt. I’ll urge Bishop Amoako to refrain from making further public statements on the matter” he highlighted.
He believes that more such comments could provoke public outrage and encouraged the bishop to allow the legal process to run its course without further commentary.
During his church service on Sunday, October 20, 2024, Bishop Amoako defended his son, Elrad Salifu Amoako, claiming the incident was an unfortunate accident.
“It was an accident. My son did not carry a gun to go and kill anybody,” the bishop said.
However, Boakye-Danquah argued that the reckless driving of Bishop Amoako’s son resulted in the tragic deaths of two young girls and should not be dismissed as a mere accident.
