Over 10 heavily armed men attack Journalist Erastus Asare Donkor and crew at a galamsey site

JOYNEWS Journalist Erastus Asare Donkor and his crew have been attacked by armed men at a galamsey site. 

According to reports the armed men attacked the JOYNEWS Journalist and his crew at a mining site in Asumenya in the Ashanti Region.

Details of the armed attack suggest over ten heavily built armed men with guns attacked them by subjecting them to beatings.

The award-winning journalist Erastus Asare Donkor is known for his expose against illegal mining and all forms of environmental degradation.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo in a press statement dated October 9, 2024, directed the Minister for Defense to deploy additional military forces to intensify the ongoing “Operation Halt”, which aims to curb illegal mining activities.
