Workers of Zoomlion Ghana have revealed that they have lost some of their workers due to the hardship they are facing.
Speaking in an interview with Angel TV, one of the leaders of workers stated, “Speaking now two persons have died, this Saturday we will be going to bury one, we don’t have money to buy medicine, we pick cars to work, our money is 250 cedis a month, and they are not able to pay”
The leader of the workers stated some of them have spent over 15 to 17 years of their life doing this and the most painful part is when someone dies while working for Zoomlion they don’t even pay anything to the bereaved family.
She added that, “We the leader had a meeting, and we were told by those who pay the contractors that they do not owe any contractor, our leaders also say government has to pay him before he is able to pay us. The contractors are also saying they have paid all contractors. So right now, who is keeping our money?”.
