The Member of Parliament for Asawase Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Muntaka Mubarak has responded to his removal from office as Chief Minority whip in Parliament.
The Member of Parliament was amongst the leaders of the NDC Parliamentary caucus who saw their removal from the leadership role effected after the NDC held their internal party elections. The party after it’s election of National Executives effected a change in the leadership of the Minority which Saw the Minority Leader, the Deputy and Whips being changed.
Muntaka whose position was relieved as the Chief Minority whip has revealed that, his removal from the position never made him a bitter person towards the party leaders but rather they were not pleased with the way it was done. He said, they knew they would leave that office soon because others have served in it beside them but what was not pleasing was the manner in which their removal came.
He also shared that, his removal has lifted a heavy burden from his shoulders as an MP. He claimed personally, the change in roles for him to become a follower in the caucus has brought him some complete peace he never had while being the Chief Minority Whip. He emphasized the only thing he finds missing in the Parliamentary impasse recently is the absence of experience in the leadership of both the NDC and NPP.
