Ama Governor, a lawyer and social media influencer has stated their only crime was saying stop galamsey.

On Sunday, 22nd September, chaos broke out between Democracy Hub protesters and the Ghana Police Service during the second day of the protest leading to the arrest of about 42 protesters of the Democracy Hub.

Ama Governor was part of the 42 Democracy Hub demonstrators who were arrested.

On her way to court, Ama stated, “You want to see a 26-year-old lawyer because she said Stop Galamsey. That’s our only crime, Stop Galamsey. I want to go so they grant us bail, 48 hours, no food, no water.” You want us in this?” she yelled.

The protestors who were arraigned before court today had their bail denied, they will be making another in courts appearance next month on 8th October.
