The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has been criticized by his constituents for only leading “jama” (cheerleading).
Speaking on TV3’s New Day Community Manifesto, a constituent lamented that Annoh-Dompreh is best known in the constituency for fixing streetlights and hiring boys for *jama*, making that his main achievement in 12 years.
The anonymous speaker also alleged vote-buying during elections. “During the election period, they come to us with 10 cedis, 20 cedis. I’ve never taken any,” he added.
The constituent, who works as a tiler, expressed frustration with rising prices. “Tiles used to cost 35 cedis but now sell for 85 cedis. Cement under John Mahama was 16 cedis, now it’s over 100 cedis. After writing an estimate for someone, they just look at it. All our businesses are in a mess. We are hungry despite the ‘Planting for Food and Jobs’ initiative,” he concluded.
Our MP (Frank Annoh-Dompreh) is most famous for fixing streetlights in the constituency, which should be the assembly’s responsibility – Nsawam Adoagyiri constituent #TV3NewDay #CommunityManifesto pic.twitter.com/rGRFzQfQVC
