Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo has insulted the intelligence of Ghanaians after failing to qualify Ghana to the 2025 African Cup of Nations scheduled to take place in Morrocco.
According to him, criticism from Ghanaians are just noise to him as he regards them as inexperienced individuals who know little to nothing about football.
Otto Addo indicated that the only people worth criticizing him or giving him football advise are his mentors, including former Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp.
“I trained under [Matthias] Sammer. I trained under [Jurgen] Klopp; I was assistant to Edin Terzic, who was Dortmund’s head coach.”
“They are also critical of some things, but this has much more value if I speak to Jurgen Klopp and he says this or that than somebody from anywhere saying blah blah, this is bad,” he said during a press conference ahead of Ghana’s match against Niger.
Ghana secured just three points out of a possible 15 in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. This means Ghana did not qualify for the tournament in Morocco.
The Black Stars missed a crucial opportunity to remain in contention after a 1-1 draw with Angola last Friday.
While calls for Otto Addo’s resignation have intensified, it appears the calls of Ghanaians have fallen on the deaf ears of the top hierarchy of the Ghana Football Association.
