The Ghana Police Service has declared a suspect, known by the alias Fatau Motorway, who was seen in video footage wielding a weapon during violent clashes between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Mamobi, Accra.
Following disturbances between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the area that resulted in the injuries of nine persons.
The police has released a statement to reaffirm their determination to ensure those responsible face justice.
“We urge members of the public to support us with credible information as we continue our intelligence-led operation to get him and other perpetrators arrested to face justice,” they stated.
The violent confrontation between the NPP and NDC supporters has heightened concerns about political unrest in the area.
Residents have called for stronger security measures, while the police have asked for public cooperation.
“We are working with all available evidence, including video footage, to track down those responsible,” the police added.
Authorities have pledged to restore calm in the community while continuing their investigation. “We are counting on the support of the community to provide any information that can help us locate the individuals involved,” they assured.
