Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has promised to construct modern markets across all the districts in Ghana if he is elected president of Ghana.
On a campaign trail, Dr. Bawumia promised to improve the lives of market women by constructing one modern market in every district, just as the ruling government has done in sectors such as health and road infrastructure.
“I want to help market women and if you want to help market women there must be a market. There are two main policies for market women. Every district without a modern market, we have to have to give them a modern market in every district
The mentality we have been working with…every district without a hospital we introduced agenda 111 (to ensure they all have hospitals). Every district without roads, we have brought DRIP (to improve road infrastructure). Every district without courts we have provided them. The next one will be a market in every district,” he stated.
