Oliver Barker-Vormawor, the leader of the Democracy Hub has revealed the reasons behind his decision to remove a key from a police vehicle during their say no to galamsey protest.

There are others that show more accurately what happened”.
Oliver stated that on the ground they had a little Van that had all their equipment inside, water, medicine, placards, food and a public address system and they saw police officers going around the vehicle which started the escalation.
He said, “Shortly after we saw them bring a toll truck despite the lives and individuals there, they started pushing the toll truck right on our legs, that was something that was concerning for us. There was no conversation, you can see them in riot gear as if something is going to happen”.
“So, then I go in there and I see that the vehicle they have abandoned the vehicle, and it was still on, so I put the vehicle off to stop it from pressing on the protesters that were there. I run towards where the other police were and I threw the key towards them, that’s all I did, I didn’t try to move the car, I just wanted people not to be injured in that moment”. Oliver detailed.
