An old video of the now-presidential candidate for the Movement for Change Alan Kyeremanten has resurfaced again on the internet.
In the old video that has resurfaced, the then NPP member Alan Kyeremanten in a press conference told Ghanaians he was conceding defeat to Akufo-Addo after the first run of the NPP presidential Primaries.
Alan Kyeremanten was one of the 17 candidates who contested the 2007 NPP flagbearership race. He polled 738 votes, representing 32.3 percent as against the 1,096 votes, representing 47.96 that Nana Addo had. Alan conceded defeat, allowing Nana Addo to contest in the 2008 general elections.
In 2024 in the run-up to the NPP Presidential elections, President Akufo-Addo supported his vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. When he previously told Ghanaians and Alan Kyeremanten, he would be the one to succeed him to be the next NPP presidential candidate.
Fast forward to today, the presidential candidate of the Movement for Change Alan Kyeremanten has been expressing strong disapproval of former president John Agyekum Kufuor endorsing NPP presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the 2024 elections.
Alan Kyeremanten insists that former president Kufuor has created a big blot on his political career by publicly endorsing Bawumia, he also revealed former President Kufuor even before he became a minister under him knew his worth and used to say 70 percent of his policies came from Alan.
