An old photo of President Akufo-Addo ex-wife has emerged online.
Eleanor Akosua Akufo-Addo died on 13 July 1993 some 30 years ago. She was married to Ghana’s current president, Nana Akufo-Addo, and their union blessed them with a daughter.
She was an accomplished lawyer and the first Ashanti Regional Manager of DHL and a descendant of the Botase Royal Family of Asante Mampong, an area of rich heritage and tradition.
In 2023, her family and community commemorated 30th anniversary of her passing with a ceremony.
To honor her memory, President Akufo-Addo, alongside their daughter, Edwina Nana Dokua Akufo-Addo, dedicated a Social Centre that carries Eleanor Akosua Akufo-Addo’s name.
Her personal achievements and contributions to Ghanaian society, and her lasting influence on both her family and the community was also celebrated during the anniversary.
