Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has chastised member of the National Cathedral’s board of trustees, Dr. Joyce Aryee for dismissing concerns about staff payments, during the construction halt of the cathedral as “ridiculous.”
The MP who believes Dr. Aryee should not have made such a comment disclosed that RIBADE, the private contractor constructing the National Cathedral promptly terminated the agreement with its workers on March 14, 2022 when it was obvious the project has been suspended.

“They wouldn’t be paying people for 31 long months over an abandoned project if Ghana was their private company,” portions of a post he made on X read.
According to Okudzeto Ablakwa, the government has programmed to continue ”these unconscionable cathedral payments beyond December 2024.”
See how RIBADE, the private contractor constructing the National Cathedral promptly terminated the agreement with its workers on March 14, 2022 when it was obvious the project has been suspended.
