The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is projected to win the majority of parliamentary seats in the upcoming 2024 elections, according to a recent survey by research group Outcomes International. The study suggests that the NPP is positioned to outperform the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Based on the survey, the NPP is expected to secure 52% of all parliamentary seats, which would amount to around 144 out of the 276 available seats. On the other hand, the NDC is anticipated to win about 36% of the seats, translating to 99 seats. The study also indicated that 7% of respondents are unlikely to support either the NPP or the NDC, while 5% are inclined to vote for other candidates.
The research was conducted between August 15 and September 15, 2024, using a quantitative approach and covering the entire voting population of approximately 17 million registered voters. The researchers employed a Probability Proportional to Size (PPS) sampling method with implicit stratification, aiming to enhance the survey’s representation of the country and ensure cost-efficiency.
The main focus of the survey was to assess which party is most likely to secure a majority in the parliamentary elections scheduled for December 2024. Outcomes International’s findings provide insight into the potential parliamentary landscape, suggesting a favorable outlook for the NPP heading into the elections.
