The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama has revealed that NPP party executives’ own concession mining in forest reserves in Ghana.
Speaking to TV3 in an exclusive interview, John Mahama stated boldly that all NPP party executives have a concession and are also engaged in community mining.
John Mahama stated, “All the party executives have concessions and they are doing illegal mining in forest reserves, it is a pity but it is close to home that is why he can’t deal with it, if you go to the districts they talk about community mining, Community mining it is the NPP party executives and the DCE who are doing the community mining, they are the ones doing what they are doing”.
Former president Mahama also called on President Akufo-Addo to resign after he failed to fight galamsey after putting his presidency on the line.
“If we were in some other jurisdiction he would have resigned by now, by his words he put his presidency on the line because now his own people have been found to be the ones engaged in galamsey”, John Mahama said.
John Mahama noted that President Akufo-Addo’s people are involved in galamsey hence his inability to fight it.
