A member of Alan Kyeremanten’s butterfly movement, Movement for Change Lawyer Appiah Danquah has said the New Patriotic Party is waging a war against Ghana’s democracy.
According to the Movement for Change member, the NPP does not care about Ghanaians with the way they are handling the issues in parliament because they hate the rule of law.
Speaking on Pan Africa TV in a video shared by Radio Gold FM, he said, “We cannot create a system where people who hate the rule of law, who hate the only way our liberties can be protected, they are waging a war against democracy cause immediately you promote acts of arbitrariness, immediately you support those actions then you are waging a war against rule of law”.
“And when you are waging a war on the rule of law you cannot survive or you should not survive as a political entity, then you have an interest other than the interest of becoming a political party and that is why consistently they delivered governance despite the oath the president of Ghana took a president they sponsored”, he added.
The member of the Movement of Change also descended heavily on President Akufo-Addo for not delivering on the oath he took when he was sworn in as Ghana’s president, saying, “They delivered a governance that is averse to the oath he took, the oath to be faithful to Ghana, the oath to defend, protect, and defend the constitution of Ghana, and the oath to dedicate himself to the well-being of every Ghanaian to be fair to all manner of Ghanaians he breached that oath and the political party who tout their liberal democratic credential say they are firm believers in the concept of the rule of law those should be the one started the impeachment procedure against the president”.
He added that the NPP should be the one starting the impeachment process to impeach President Akufo-Addo, but they won’t.
